CRUX: The Gospel According to Mark

The Bible is a Story full of stories of God and his interaction with humanity. Mark is believed to be the first gospel written after the death and resurrection of. A Crux is defined as a vital, decisive or pivitol point. It is also the Latin word for cross. As we enter into the Gospel of Mark we will see that he is asking us to follow Jesus on this journey which is heading to a Crux a pivotal decisive point and that point will lead us to a cross. Mark is shocking in his treatment because he establishes Jesus as a King who has come to set up his reign. This reign is not established by displays of power and might leading to those who would oppose him being nailed to a cross but rather in him serving others and being placed on a cross in their place. The word gospel means "good news" and Mark's good news leads us to see Jesus as the Crux of human history and leads us to the Crux of belief.
