Roosevelt "RJ" Joshua

Roosevelt “RJ” Joshua is a recent transplant to the Houston area from Los Angeles, CA. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, RJ has walked with God since he was a boy, and he sat with his own grandfather, watching him study his Bible and prepare sermons for the church his grandfather pastored in Oakland, CA.

RJ is new to Presbyterian life, but is impressed by the level of care the presbytery structure affords, and caring for people is what RJ cares about most. He has travelled abroad to Mexico, Brazil, Eritrea, and Kenya for the purpose of caring for orphans and widows as well as serving as a board member for an orphanage in North India. RJ looks forward to helping KXC care for the Cypress community and serve it well in Christ.

RJ has been married to Stacey Joshua, currently a Professor at LoneStar College Cy-Fair, for more than 21 yrs. He is father to Kenneth, Trinity, Nathan, Jacob and grandfather to Payton and Oliver Joshua

Charles Parks

Charles Parks is a 27 veteran of the United States Air Force and currently a Captain with United Airlines. Charles has been a member of the PCA since 1979, and was a student of Westminster Fellowship at the University of Southern Mississippi ( later Reformed University Fellowship).

He holds a Bachelor's in Business Administration and a Masters in both Aeronautical Science and Military History. Throughout his Air Force career he served in various capacities within the church at different assignments. In 1998, Charles was the founding Ruling Elder and was ordained and installed at Harvest Community Church, Omaha Nebraska. He helped Harvest move from Mission status to Particularization and served on Presbytery committees as well. He was a strong supporter of the first RUF campus minister at the University of Nebraska. Charles has been involved in many mercy and justice ministries to include inner city ministries, and overseas missions.

Charles is a social entrepreneur and he and his wife are partners with Land of A Thousand Hills Coffee company and Do Good Coffee in Rwanda, Africa, where they invest in coffee farming villages providing living wages, education, healthcare and clean water, while celebrating the craft of specialty coffee. Charles is married to Kathryn Probst Parks for over 39 years and they have two sons, Joshua and Jonathan. 

Todd Phillips

Todd Phillips has served the last 23 years as police officer in the city of Houston. Todd attended Texas A&M where he studied biology and then transferred and graduated with a Degree in Criminology and Corrections from Sam Houston State University.

Todd has served as an elder for over 10 years and was a part of the organizing session for King’s Cross Church in 2014 and served in that capacity until being elected as an elder of King’s Cross in 2021. 

Todd is married to his sweetheart Karen and they have an adult daughter Abbey Phillips Wilson.

When Todd is not busy “putting out fires” and serving others he loves to fly fish, make great good and enjoy a good beverage with friends.

Dave Randall

Dave was born in Savannah, Georgia in 1950.  He remained in Savannah until 1970 when he enlisted in the United States Navy.  After boot camp in San Diego, California and additional training in Pensacola, Florida, he returned to Savannah long enough to marry Pat.

While in the Navy, Dave took advantage of an educational program that allowed him to earn a degree in Chemical Engineering from Auburn University (1975) and a commission as an Ensign at the same time.

Dave and Pat had various duty stations around the United States and the world.  Dave’s final tour of duty was on the faculty at the United States Naval Academy.  After retiring from the Navy in 1991, Dave worked in the field of forensic engineering in Annapolis, Maryland and Dacula, Georgia.  In 2008, Dave and Pat moved to the Houston area where Dave worked in the oil & gas industry.  Dave and Pat are now retired.

Dave has served as a Deacon and Elder at Ivy Creek Church in the Atlanta area.  Dave and Pat have been blessed with three adult children, Bill, Heather and Shannon.  They have grandkids in the Houston area and in Billings, Montana.

When not serving the people of Cypress and KXC, Dave enjoys playing pickle-ball and traveling with Pat. 

SUSANNA WANG: MUSIC MINISTRY DIRECTOR

Susanna Wang is the Music Ministry Director at King’s Cross Church. She is privileged to work alongside a talented team of musicians who strive to create a worship atmosphere that captures the awesomeness and holiness of our God as well as the joy and exuberance we experience as God’s people.

Susanna has been involved in church music ministry in various capacities from an early age, first in Alabama and now Texas. Although her background is in classical music, she enjoys the challenges of spontaneity and improvisation inherent in worship. In addition to KXC ministry, Susanna teaches at Lone Star College and Stephen F. Austin State University, maintains a harp and piano studio, and performs with orchestras and chamber ensembles across Texas. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2014 with a Master of Music Degree in Harp Performance.

Susanna lives in Houston with her wonderful husband, Waiaka and spends free time visiting family and friends, practicing aerial arts, reading, attending concerts and plays, and attempting to learn French.

TIFFANY DICARLO: CHILDREN'S MINISTRY DIRECTOR 

Tiffany Dicarlo is the Children’s Ministry Director at King’s Cross Church. After completing the Medical Radiographer program at Lone Star College CyFair she work at Texas Children's hospital as a pediatric radioagrapher.

The DiCarlo’s began attending King’s Cross in 2017, shortly before Hurricane Harvey.  The big heart from a small church that supported not only their family, but the local community after the storm attracted the young family to the growing church. They became members shortly after, and became involved in the children’s ministry on Sunday mornings, participating in King’s Kids activities, and volunteering for Backyard Bible Camp.  Tiffany felt a calling and a push from God to be more involved in the Children’s Ministry.  Then in 2023, she was called to be the Children’s Ministry Director.

Tiffany sees all of our King’s Kids as a reflection of God’s amazing promise.  Her goal is to present the Gospel and love of Jesus to all of our children where they are, just as Jesus does for all of us. She also believes in helping equip our parents with resources, support, and fellowship on their discipleship journey at home because she is actively in the same process with her own family.

Tiffany Staff Pic_nTiffany enjoys lots of past times and hobbies, including reading, gluten-free cooking, loom knitting, and being creative with her Cricut.  Her favorite hobby of all is definitely being crafty and artistic with her kids who push her out of her comfort zone to try new crafts, creative recipes, learning new things about the world around us!

Taylor and Tiffany married in 2013 and have 3 children, Myles, Devin, and Lucas.

GRACE WICK: SOCIAL MEDIA AND CONNECTIONS  COORDINATOR

Grace Wick is the Social Media and Connections Coordinator at King’s Cross Church. Grace has used social media to promote her own online presence for a number of years and now shehelps share KXC’s message online and promote awareness of our services and events.

Grace graduated from Texas A&M University in 2016 with a degree in International Studies with a focus on business and a minor in French. Although her degree is more business oriented, Grace works at a yarn store, where she manages and teaches classes! Loving to create things, Grace has documented her knitting journey via blog, instagram, and now a weekly podcast.

Grace lives in Tomball with her husband, Sam and their cat, Bertie. When she’s not knitting, she loves to bake bread, make music with the KXC music team, read, hang out with friends and family, and drink tea.
