At the HEART of KXC

The first question of the shorter catechism asks what is humanity’s primary purpose? The answer is for each of us as individuals and as a whole to glorify God and enjoy him forever. This is only made possible by the life transforming grace found only in the gospel of Jesus. Here at KXC we long for every man, woman, boy and girl in Cypress to have an opportunity to hear and believe the gospel so they to can fulfill the primary purpose for which they were made. In order to do that we have to focus on certain values and convictions lest we be distracted by causes and motivations of the moment rather than the mission of God in the world. So here at KXC we are engaging in this new sermon series to bring clarity to the things that we long for each of us to value and hold as a conviction. These core matters are what we will use to guide how we partner in the mission of God here in Cypress. These values will be key in shaping us and influencing leadership decisions that are major and also those that impact our weekly ministry plans. It is easy to be moved and shaped in all kinds of directions but Jesus has given clear direction for his church and has called us to Cypress to be a visible expression of his church. So, to keep us from doing many things rather than the most important things we use our convictions to help us stay centered by keeping the main thing of our ministry the main thing.
