  3. What is the first type of “christian” James is addressing? Why is this problematic according to him?
  4. What is the importance of of doctrine and theology? Why is having right doctrine not sufficient to be an authentic Christian according to James?
  5. Have you ever heard someone use a word and you thought they meant something they did not intend to say? Why is context so important for us to understand the meaning of words? 
  6. How does James say Abraham was justified? What was the basis of his justification?
  7. Is James teaching that our works are essential for us to have faith? If he is not then what is the role of actions and works in the life of a Christian?
