Sermon

Too Good To Be True?

April 1, 2018 Speaker: Dennis Hermerding Series: Holy Week 2018

Passage: Luke 24:1–12

1. What stuck out to you from the sermon?

2. Luke tells us that the women showed up expecting to find a dead body but found the tomb empty. How did they respond? How would you respond?

3. The Angels ask the women why they are seeking the living among the dead? Why did they ask them this question? How would you answer them?

4. Neither the women or the disciples remembered what Jesus had told them about being betrayed, suffering and dieing and rising on the third day. Do you struggle at times to remember what Jesus says to you? Why do you think this is so hard?

5. The disciples didn't believe the testimony of the women about the resurrection and were the first skeptics Jesus faced. How does this instruct us in our ministry and journey of faith? How should we treat those who have serious questions and doubts about Jesus and his message?

6. Why do you think the women were chosen to be the first to hear and believe in the good news of Jesus's resurrection? What does this tell us about the value that Jesus and the Bible place on women?

7. If the Resurrection is not too good to be true then what impact is it having on your life? Knowing what you know what will you do?
