Summer in The Psalms 2016
Beginning with Psalm 49, we will take a look at these ancient hymns and prayers (what some have called the Songs of Jesus) over the course the next few weeks and seek to make sense of them as they help us to make sense of our lives and world.
The Psalms serve as a guide to express our emotions before God, whether that be anger, frustration, confusion, doubt, excitement, joy, peace, fear, anxiety, disappointment, or whatever it is you're feeling in this season of life. God can handle all of the baggage and He has given us a prayerbook to serve as a model.
The Psalms also call us into community, fellowship and intimacy they tell us we can’t do this alone and we can’t not care about others. Each one of us has been called to be apart of the New Humanity I am united to Jesus and millions of others scattered throughout the world and throughout history.
